Brigstowe Chora | About
Brigstowe Chora is a choir formed (mainly) from alumni of the University of Bristol Church Choir who sang at St Paul’s, Clifton between 2007 and 2013. The group meets to visit and sing in churches and cathedrals across the UK, often covering for the resident choirs of these instituions during their vacation periods. Past trips have seen the choir visit Chesterfield Parish Church (the ‘Crooked Spire’), Newcastle Cathedral and Great St Mary’s, Cambridge. The group’s repertoire is diverse, but with a particular emphasis on music written by composers from the West Country and contemporary choral composers.
The choir is jointly directed by Benedict Todd (Organ Scholar at St Paul’s 2007-2011) and Joe Hutchinson (Organ Scholar at St Paul’s 2011-2013).
