Privacy policy
For our terms & conditions for score purchases, please see this page.
General policy overview
The privacy policy of this website is straightforward: we do not collect data from you without your knowledge. There are a few specific instances in which you may choose to supply data to us so that we can provide a service to you. In these cases, when you submit data to us, we reserve the right to store your submitted data in order to be able to fulfil your request. If you subsequently wish for us to delete this information, please contact us directly (although be aware that this may mean we are unable to subsequently provide further services to you).
Specific examples of these instances are itemised below.
Cookies & browser storage overview
Our policy on cookies is, like our privacy policy, straightforward: we do not use cookies to store data on your device.
In one particular use-case, we do temporarily store a small amount of information on your device; in order to purchase scores from Benedict’s composition catalogue, users must agree to the Terms and Conditions of sale. We record users’ acceptance of these conditions (when the appropriate checkbox is ticked) in your browser’s storage in order to allow the sale to proceed. This information only remains in storage for the duration of your browser session; when you exit your browser, the information will be removed. (NB If you are feeling creative, bypassing the checkbox by setting the acceptance information directly in your local storage will still be taken as accepting the Terms and Conditions of sale).
Specific instances
Contact form
When you send a message using our contact form, you must agree to allow us to store the information that you send us so that we can respond to your enquiry. We reserve the right to store details so submitted in order to be able to reference your message in any future, follow-up enquiries and in case it may be necessary to use those details to fulfil any request you have made.
If you subsequently wish for us to delete this information, please contact us directly (although be aware that this may mean we are unable to subsequently provide further services to you).
Score purchase
We require customers wishing to purchase scores from Benedict’s composition catalogue to provide us with certain contact and delivery information, in order for us to be able to fulfil their order. Please note that this does not include any financial information (e.g. credit or debit card details), which are all securely handled by PayPal and to which we have no access. As with messages submitted via our contact form, customers placing an order for scores must agree to allow us to store all details so submitted in order that we can fulfil their purchase(s).
If you subsequently wish for us to delete this information, please contact us directly (although be aware that this may mean we are unable to subsequently provide further services to you). Please also be aware that, in the case of score purchases, some details of your transaction will need to be permanently retained for accounting purposes.
